We teach both tenor and alto sax at the Morningside School of Music and cover many different approaches to learning this fantastic instrument, including ABRSM grades. For those who want to take a slightly more relaxed approach to learning the saxophone, we can be very specific to our student’s needs and the styles to accommodate what they would like to learn.

Children’s Saxophone Lessons

Due to the saxophone being a more physically demanding instrument of choice, we usually recommend that children should wait until they are about 10 or 11 years old. The saxophone has been a firm favourite at the music school for some time now, and we are now seeing more children than ever wanting to learn. Our saxophone lessons are taught by a qualified professional who has extensive international playing and teaching experience.

We also have numerous links with music stores and websites to ensure parents get only the very best deal when purchasing instruments. Book a trial lesson now by calling 0131 447 1117. We have saxophones available that our clients can use to get started.

Adult Saxophone Lessons

Our saxophone teacher has many years experience working with children and adults who are complete beginners and who have never even tried the saxophone before. This fantastic instrument is a joy to play, and we can show you how. It is recommended that anyone interested in trying it out should come along for a trial lesson and we will supply you with a saxophone during the lesson. The tuition is fun, exciting and progress is usually made very quickly. Why not book a trial lesson to try it out? Call us on 0131 447 1117.

Saxophone Lessons for Teenagers

We have a very strong understanding of the requirements for standard grade, higher and sixth-year study school music exams. This is why having saxophone lessons in Edinburgh at Morningside School of Music can help your teenager through what high school music departments expect. We not only concentrate on the practical elements during lessons, but we work through SQA music theory past papers also.

For more information, please call us on 0131 447 1117 and ask to speak to one of the music teachers who will be more than happy to help you.

* Please note that for hygiene purposes, we are unable to supply the use of a saxophone during lessons beyond a trial basis. However, saxophones can be hired from various shops and websites, and our saxophone teacher can offer advice on how to obtain and instrument.
