Bass guitar tuition at Morningside School of Music is rewarding and fun. Our skilled teachers aim to equip first-time students with basic knowledge of the technical and theoretical components of becoming a master bass player.

Bass Lessons for Adults

The bass guitar is a fantastic instrument to learn, whatever age you are. More than 60% of our clients fit into the adult category. We provide a modern, fun and structured way to learn bass guitar. We can help you work through many graded syllabi. These include the very well-received Rockschool graded method and the Trinity College London graded method when having bass lessons.

However, should you wish to take a more relaxed approach to learning, our fully qualified music teachers will be happy to design a learning plan to suit your needs and musical interests.

Our lessons take place until 10 pm so that everyone can fit in a lesson after work. You can catch the numbers 5, 11, or 16 buses to our front door for an evening bass guitar lesson. You’ll find our teachers to be highly knowledgeable, approachable, helpful and friendly.

Bass Lessons for Children

We offer bass guitar lessons to children aged six years old and upwards. The teachers are enjoyable and get on incredibly well with children. All of our music teachers are fully registered with the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme.

Bass lessons can take place after school or early evening, which is ideal for younger children. We can work through well-known syllabi during lessons, such as the illustrious Rockschool method or Trinity College London’s ‘Rock and Pop’ syllabus. We use the best bass equipment during our lessons to ensure the very best learning experience.

We welcome all parents or guardians to sit in on the bass guitar lessons and even participate. Our bass teachers can advise on the best bass guitar books to purchase.

Bass Lessons for Teenagers

Bass guitar lessons for teenagers are a brilliant way for teens to move forward in their school grades. Our music teachers completely understand the Rockschool syllabus, which the SQA recognise. These Rockschool pieces can appear in school music exams and help students achieve qualifications ranging from the level of National 5 to Advanced Higher. Rockschool grades 6 – 8 are also recognised by UCAS, which awards points depending on the level of musical achievement. These points can be very useful in applications to universities.

We offer bass guitar lessons to pupils from various schools in the Edinburgh area, such as George Heriot’s, George Watson’s College, Saint Thomas of Aquin’s RC High School, Boroughmuir High School, James Gillespie’s High School and many more.
