Who are Morningside’s music teachers?

Morningside School of Music employs over 45 qualified music teachers across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and the Borders, each one a professional musician in their own right and PVG registered with Disclosure Scotland before they ever teach a lesson.

With a team this size, we can’t introduce every teacher on a single page, so below is a small selection to give you a genuine sense of the experience, qualifications and passion for music that every one of our teachers brings into the room.

Līga

Singing Teacher & Jazz Pianist

Līga is a jazz vocalist and pianist with a background in classical and choral music. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in jazz performance from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga, with further vocal jazz studies in London, and performs regularly on the jazz scene in both Latvia and the UK, teaching both singing and jazz piano.

Lisa

Flute & Saxophone Teacher

Lisa is a flute and saxophone teacher with a Bachelor of Music with Honours from the University of Edinburgh and Grade 8 Distinction in both instruments. She has performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and several university and youth orchestras, and has experience running inclusive music classes for children with additional support needs.

Erin is a vocal coach and musical director with an extensive background in musical theatre, having led vocal coaching and musical direction for numerous Edinburgh productions and the Edinburgh Fringe. She creates a fun, safe environment for students to explore their voice with real intention and purpose.

He has worked extensively as a pit musician for Scottish theatre productions and brings a genuine love of performance into every lesson.

Gigi is a classically trained vocalist and pianist with several years of experience teaching voice and piano to students of all ages. She has a particular passion for preparing students for graded exams and performance opportunities, and continues her own vocal studies privately with a teacher at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Callum

Callum is a singing teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre from the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, and over seven years' experience coaching vocal styles from pop and rock to jazz and musical theatre. He has performed professionally in the West End and on cruise ships worldwide, and brings that stage experience into a warm, encouraging teaching style, coaching students through LAMDA graded exams with a 100% distinction pass rate. He can also accompany students on the piano.
