Terms of Service
These terms apply whenever you use our website, book a lesson, or attend Morningside School of Music at 138 Comiston Road, Edinburgh. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and safeguarding commitments.
Last updated: 28 July 2026
1. Who these terms are with
“Morningside School of Music”, “we”, “us” or “our” refers to Morningside School of Music, registered in Scotland under company number SC328271, of 138 Comiston Road, Morningside, Edinburgh, EH10 5QN. By using our website or booking lessons with us, you (“you”, the pupil, or the parent/guardian booking on a pupil’s behalf) agree to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.
2. Lesson bookings and fees
- Lessons are offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, at our current published rates (see Pricing), with no long-term contract required.
- Registration, scheduling and billing for lessons are handled through our booking platform, MyMusicStaff, subject to the terms you accept when you register there.
- Prices are reviewed from time to time. We will always tell you the applicable rate before you book, and any change to our published rates will not affect lessons you have already paid for.
3. Cancellations and missed lessons
We operate a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance wherever possible. This protects the income of our self-employed teachers, who reserve that time specifically for you. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, may still be chargeable at the full lesson rate.
4. Safeguarding and conduct
All of our teachers hold a live PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate through Disclosure Scotland. Lessons take place at our supervised premises, which are covered by CCTV, and parents or guardians of pupils under 18 are always welcome to remain on site. Full details are set out on our safeguarding page. We expect all pupils, parents and visitors to treat our staff, teachers and premises with respect, and we reserve the right to refuse or end a lesson booking in the case of abusive or unsafe behaviour.
5. Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are sold through our online shop and are subject to any terms shown at the point of purchase there, including validity period and redemption conditions. Vouchers are redeemable against lessons booked with Morningside School of Music and are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law.
6. Use of this website
You may view and download content from this website for your own personal, non-commercial use only. You must not:
- Modify or copy our content for republication or public display
- Use our content for any commercial purpose without our written permission
- Remove any copyright or trademark notices from material you download
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape or disrupt the operation of this website
This permission ends automatically if you breach any of these restrictions, and we may suspend or restrict access to our website at any time.
7. Accuracy of content
We take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, including our lesson listings, pricing and teacher profiles. However, we make no warranty that content is complete, error-free, or that any page will remain continuously available, and we may correct or update content at any time without notice.
8. Third-party links and embedded services
Our website links to, or embeds forms and widgets from, third parties including MyMusicStaff and our separate gift voucher shop. We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms; your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other UK law. Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or our services.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or how we run the school. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continuing to use our website or book lessons after an update means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and any dispute relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
